NEW!!CineSplore Blog containing recommendations and more details about the setupThis is a mega-cinewhoop frame not unlike any other 3” ducted design. It is NOT intended to be an acrobatic machine. It is intended for slow-ish, stable, controlled flight with the payload of a GoPro Hero 8 or similar with a TPU mount. The frame is specifically designed to be lightweight (by comparison to others), durable, easy to build/repair and cost effective to maintain. It has two 20x20 mounting platforms and one Toothpick style whoop board mount (two separate stack platforms). It is designed to fit analog components or the Vista unit. The GoPro/HD mounting platform is the same as on the CineGlide and Fouride. Camera mounts for one will be easy to swap from frame to frame.This platform performs best with the FPVCycle 2203 3450kv motor, 4S 1100mah battery, V2 Ducts, and 25mm standoffs because the V2 Ducts are shorter. The basic ducts are from the CLOUD-149. They provide adequate prop protection/safety for most situations and are decently durable while being extremely cost effective. Unfortunately, even with the genuine FPVCycle 2203 3450kv motor, you will still have some washout in extreme situations and minor yaw lock problems in gusty or confined environments such as a narrow corridor/hallway. The V3 Ducts fix most of these issues and are a bolt on replacement for the original ducts. If you are an experienced FPV pilot with developed fine motor control skills in this area, you will appreciate the V3 Ducts quite a bit. If you are novice to intermediate level, you’ll definitely notice a difference but it may not be quite as significant to you.Compared to a typical Cinewhoop with your standard issue ~1506 and any prop, this platform running FPVCycle 2203 3450kv and the V2 ducts is dramatically improved. The motors account for about 75% of that improvement.  Dropping the standoff height to 25mm is just icing on the cake if you care to do so
Note: Tge ducts do NOT fit the frame perfectly on purpose. When screwed into place the ducts are held under tension and are somewhat oval. When fresh props are inserted, they will rub against that walls of that duct. Arm the quad and get the props spinning, then hover for a few seconds to allow them to grind into place. It will be loud during this process and then it will quiet down considerably. This sort of fit actually improves efficiency a but but more importantly, reduces overall vibrations in the system because it&#39s all held under tension. Again, this imperfection is on purpose and 100% if the ducts do not fit perfectly.

Please please please check your FC orientation, motor orientation and prop orientation BEFORE the first flight. Always test arm with your controller and NO props on and check to make sure everything is working right. Note that this frame is designed to use a whoop board but in a square configuration. Not diamond.  If you are using a whoop board, at the absolute minimum you will need to yaw the board at least 45deg in the flight firmware settings to have it in the correct orientation.  Also, because of how whoop boards mount motors on the corners, it&#39s easy to end up with mixed numbered motors. Remapping motors is not difficult. There will be a video uploadeded to this description page soon with quick details on how to remap.

Along with the improvements to GPS rescue and HD integration, 4.4 has had a complete overhaul of the PID controller, which means that a new tune was required to allow for optimum performance. Much like the previous tune for Betaflight 4.2, this revised tune was completed in collaboration with none other than Team Luma pilot Joseph Webb (otherwise known as JWebb FPV), and has been pushed to its absolute limits. Joseph is a true legend in the Australian drone industry. Notes:
- This tune was deveolped using 2306.5 Size motors.- To allow for optimum performance, we recommend installing a 1000μF 35V Low ESR capacitor, along with a TVS diode.
- Be sure to use the latest BF Configurator (we're using 10.9.0)
- Ensure that you cross-reference the values after the CLI dump with the screenshots below (better safe than sorry!)
- Filters were left untouched to ensure that the tune had proper continuity between builds. If you are looking to extract more performance, or attempting to rectify an issue, add more or less filtering via the sliders as required.
- Make sure that you test hover the Luma 55 in a safe area, and check motor temperatures after 20-30 seconds. If they are hot to the touch, then do NOT proceed - ensure the build is up to scratch, and if the issue persists, get in contact and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction

LUMA 55 BUILD GUIDE v1.0 
This is the Mid plate.Note the notch at the top of the image, this indicates the back of the frame.

This is the Bottom plate.It has no notch and the flat end at the bottom indicates the front of the frame.



Install 8x Press nuts into the 8x holes in the Mid plate as follows.

DO NOT USE A HAMMER!

Install The Main stack Gummies:


Check out the following video for the correct way to install Gummies into the carbon Mid plate using Dental floss or Fishing wire.
The video shows installation into an FC/ESC..  this technique is the same for carbon.

Insert 8x 12mm M3 Cap head bolts through the Bottom plate.

  
Note: A single design is used for all 4 arms.
Orientate them so the rounded corners go on the top and bottom and the sharper corners are on the sides.
 

Attach each arm to the Bottom plate over the 12mm bolts.


Place the Mid plate loosely on top.

 
Flip the frame over and pick up any bolts you dropped )
Screw each 12 MM bolt in a single turn at a time using Loctite Blue 242 Threadlocker.
Work your way around multiple times until the whole thing comes together evenly.
Once everything's locked in nice and square you can go around and give it a final tighten.

 
 
 
Take 4x 10mm Bolts 2x M3 washers and the Front Bumper print.
 
 
Install washers on the front two bolts and insert through the Bumper into the bottom of the Bottom plate.


Secure with 4x 28mm Standoffs.


 
Insert your FPV camera mounts over the front 2 standoffs.


Grab 2x 8mm Bolts and do the same for the rear 2 holes, using 2x 20mm standoffs to secure. 




Insert the rear antenna mount over the rear standoffs.


Insert 4x 20mm M3 bolts through the main stack gummies, twist gently and slowly so you don't pop the gummies out.


Use stack spacer prints if required to add some clearance so your ESC sits clear of the press nuts and carbon. 


 
 

Install the Top-plate, triangle pointing to the front.

Grab 4x 10mm M3 bolts, 4x M3 Washers and the HD Mount Print.
Insert the 4 bolts through the 4 washers into the top of the mount and secure to the 4 28mm Standoffs.



 
Use 2x 8mm M3 bolts for the rear two holes.


Line up the Lipo pad with the triangle and stick it to the Top plate 

 
Insert the M5 Clinch nut into the HD mount print. 
Note: The nut will seat inside the lip of the print and not fall out if you seat it properly, use a little force to get it past the lip.


Arm bumpers go on the end of the arms.


The Printed Arm wire guards go over the motor wires and are secured with electrical tape.

Assembly guide.
The Luma 25 is designed to be built in either Standard or Pusher configuration.
The following guide is for Standard configuration, if you want to build the Luma 25 as a Pusher the two carbon plates as well as the guards need to be flipped upside down and you attach the HD mount to the Bottom plate and the standoffs to the Top plate instead.
1) HD Mount
Insert 1x M3 Steel washer into the GPLite mount as shown.

Insert 2x Washers into the HD Cam Mount.

Align GPLite mount up with HD Mount, Insert M3 Nut into HD Mount.

Insert M3 16mm Bolt through M3 washer into HD Mount and secure with M3 nut.

Insert 4x M2 8mm Bolts through 4x M2 Washers.

Insert M2 Bolts and Washers through HD Cam Mount.

Install HD mount assembly onto Top Plate.

Secure HD Mount to Top plate using 4x M2 Steel nuts.

2) Main Frame.
 Insert 4x 14mm M2 standoffs into TPU Front camera and Rear antenna mount.

Align with bottom plate.

Insert 8x 8mm Bolts through the Top and Bottom plates into the standoffs.

3) Prop Guards
Align and orientate the prop guards as shown.

Secure using the included 6mm Motor screws through the bottom plate through the guard into the base of the motor.
4) Rear AntennaSecure the Immortal T antenna Into the rear mount using zipties. 
5) Other
The included 25.5x25,5mm or 20x20mm RX mounts can be used either on top of main stack to secure an RX if using Vista or in the rear 20x20mm stack mount position for rear mounted Analog VTX/RX. 

IMPORTANT:Do not let electrical components come in contact with the carbon, use spacers that came with your with FC stack and the included RX/VTX Mounts to space your components away from carbon.

Assembly guide.
The Luma 25 is designed to be built in either Standard or Pusher configuration.
The following guide is for Standard configuration, if you want to build the Luma 25 as a Pusher the two carbon plates as well as the guards need to be flipped upside down and you attach the HD mount to the Bottom plate and the standoffs to the Top plate instead.
1) HD Mount
Insert 1x M3 Steel washer into the GPLite mount as shown.

Insert 2x Washers into the HD Cam Mount.

Align GPLite mount up with HD Mount, Insert M3 Nut into HD Mount.

Insert M3 16mm Bolt through M3 washer into HD Mount and secure with M3 nut.

Insert 4x M2 8mm Bolts through 4x M2 Washers.

Insert M2 Bolts and Washers through HD Cam Mount.

Install HD mount assembly onto Top Plate.

Secure HD Mount to Top plate using 4x M2 Steel nuts.

2) Main Frame.
 Insert 4x 14mm M2 standoffs into TPU Front camera and Rear antenna mount.

Align with bottom plate.

Insert 8x 8mm Bolts through the Top and Bottom plates into the standoffs.

3) Prop Guards
Align and orientate the prop guards as shown.

Secure using the included 6mm Motor screws through the bottom plate through the guard into the base of the motor.
4) Rear AntennaSecure the Immortal T antenna Into the rear mount using zipties. 
5) Other
The included 25.5x25,5mm or 20x20mm RX mounts can be used either on top of main stack to secure an RX if using Vista or in the rear 20x20mm stack mount position for rear mounted Analog VTX/RX. 

IMPORTANT:Do not let electrical components come in contact with the carbon, use spacers that came with your with FC stack and the included RX/VTX Mounts to space your components away from carbon.

The Luma 30 is an ultra-lightweight and super high-performance 3&quot cinewhoop that can be powered by the same 6S setup as its predecessor, the Luma 3, while still being able to carry a full-size GoPro. It has the same symmetrical bolt patterns on its top and bottom plates that allow it to be built in &quotpuller&quot or &quotpusher&quot configurations, plus a 15mm slammed deck height for a low center of gravity and room for O3 Air Unit, Vista or analog VTX. Weighing just 85g (Frame hardware and prints) and 238g when fully built (without Gopro), it offers longer flight times and improved maneuverability over other 3&quot whoops. The only drawback is the durability of the injection-molded guards, which will break if you hit anything hard. To make sure customers are satisfied, they have included five guards in each kit. This version comes with black ducts and blue tpu.

Secure the Gopro mount to the top plate using 2x 8mm M2 bolts washers and steel nuts through the front 2 holes of the mount.



2) Main Frame.
Install 6x 15mm Standoff onto bottom plate.

 
Secure with 6x 8mm M2 bolts from below.
 
 
Insert front FPV camera mounts over front 2 standoffs. 
 
Insert Rear antenna mount over rear 2 standoffs.

Align top plate over the standoffs

Secure with 4x 8mm M2 bolts

Insert 2 more 8mm bolts with M2 washers through the back 2 holes on the GoPro mount into the middle two standoffs.
 
3) Prop Guards and bumpers
Align and orientate the prop guards as shown.


 
Secure the guards and bumpers using 16x 10mm M2 bolts and M2 washers. 
These are screwed through the bumpers, carbon plate and guards into the base of the motors.
NOTE: M2 BOLTS HAVE SKINNY CAPHEADSDO NOT FORGET TO INSTALL THE WASHERS!DEPENDING ON WHAT MOTORS YOU RUN IT MAY BE NESSASARY TO EXPAND THE CENTER HOLE IN THE GUARDSBY A FRACTION OF A MM TO ALLOW THE BASE SCREW TO SPIN FREELY.
BE SURE NOT TO LET THE MOTOR BOLTS TOUCH THE WINDINGS OF THE MOTORS 
4) Rear AntennaSecure the Immortal T antenna Into the rear mount using zipties.

BALANCED DURABILITY AND WEIGHTThe QAV-S 2 JohnnyFPV Edition builds on the durability of its predecessor with upgraded 6mm thick arms in addition to the aluminum X-lock and FPV camera protection. At 133g (frame only - without accessories) this combination provides an industry-leading balance of weight and durability for even the most demanding applications.

X-LOCK ARM RETENTIONThe QAV-S 2 introduces a new lateral X-Lock arm system. This all-aluminum arm locking system improves the QAV-S design in both rigidity and ease of use, providing two-axis clamping that is mechanically isolated from the main plates and flight controller stack. The new lock system also allows the arms to fold with only one screw per side for easy transportation.

ALUMINUM FPV CAMERA PROTECTIONThe new FPV camera mounting solution offers excellent camera protection and support for various cameras through customizable carbon plates. The frame includes plates with damped mounts tested and optimized for the O3 camera and plates with mounts for a range of other camera options. If you want to create your own, the M2 mount points on the aluminum guards easily allow for custom mounts. Your imagination is the limit.

INJECTION MOLDED GOPRO MOUNTThe QAV-S 2 uses the same GoPro mount pattern used by other Lumenier frames, allowing a durable injection molded GoPro mount to attach with a single screw.

BACKWARD-COMPATIBLE MOUNTING PATTERNSFor those who still want to use printed GoPro and antenna mounts, the QAV-S 2 brings the JohnnyFPV frame into line with the mount patterns from the other QAV-S series frames. The new edition now uses the same mounting pattern and standoff placement as the other frames in the series. All previous QAV-S* mounts and Bardwell Special Edition frames will fit the JohnnyFPV Edition without modification. *Original QAV-S JohnnyFPV Special Edition mounts are no longer compatible

O3 COMPATIBLE MOUNTINGThe rear plate adds 25.5 M1.6 mount holes to mount the O3 air unit to the frame directly. The frame kit also includes a 5mm full aluminum mounting kit to allow for perfect wire routing for both the O3 air unit and a rear XT60 connector.

ADJUSTABLE ALUMINUM XT60 AND ACCESSORY MOUNTA custom rear mounting solution allows for a hard mounted XT60 connection as well as a range of accessory mounting options for antennas, GPS, and rear-facing action cameras. Adjustable angles allows for the perfect position regardless of the accessory being used. The frame kit includes plates for the injection molded GoPro mount and GPS mounts with both single and dual antenna options, as well as a single antenna only option.

FOLDING ARMSThe new lock system on the QAV-S 2 JohnnyFPV SE allows the arms to fold with only one screw per side for easy transportation. Simply remove the side screws and wedges, and you are now able to fold the arms.

Propeller Size

The props work with the motors to lift your quad off the ground.  Choose a prop size that fits your frame.  Higher pitch props are efficient in fast environments and are less responsive in slow speeds. Lower pitch props are efficient in slower environments and are more responsive in slow speeds. Beginners should try various pitch props to see what works best for them.

Motor Stator Size

The motors spin with the propellers to lift your quad off the ground. If you’ve picked a frame already, we show you which motors are appropriate for your frame. Beginners can choose motors with a similar stator size that others have used for the frame you’ve selected. Alternatively, calculate the thrust required for a particular thrust-to-weight ratio and learn to read motor thrust tables to select the best motors for your needs.

ESC Stack Mount

The ESC(s) controls your motors’ speed. It draws power from the battery to spin the motors based on what the FC tells it to do. Each motor needs an ESC. It’s common today to see 4-in-1 ESCs so you only need to buy a single part. For beginners, choose a 4-in-1 ESC that has a compatible mount with your frame and FC. The biggest consideration is amperage limit. We show you ESCs with appropriate amperage limits based on your frame size. You can calculate how much amperage you need based on your motor and prop choice.

FC Stack Mount

The FC is the brain or the CPU of your quad. It has a processor and other components that allow it to listen to your inputs and tells the quad what to do. FCs are commonly sold together with other components integrated or stacked (like ESCs and video transmitters). For beginners, choose a FC with a F4 or F7 processor that has a compatible mount with your frame.

Camera Size

The FPV camera captures the image you see through the goggles. An FPV camera may be included with the VTX, particularly with digital VTXs.
